Many of the colored light bulbs offered come in two distinct formats; ceramic and transparent. Ceramic light bulbs (also called opaque) resemble a painted bulb, and do not allow you to see inside the bulb. The light produced is more evenly distributed. The transparent light bulbs are still very much colored, they just allow you to see inside the bulb, giving the light a sharper, brighter look at the bulb’s center.
