LED jellyfish tanks might brighten your home!
Home aquariums have been popular since the 1850's, providing owners with a decoration that is relaxing to observe. Lava lamps served a similar function when they became popular in the late 1960's. A home decoration created this century - the Aquapict
LED Jellyfish Aquarium - combines both novelty items, and could be the next fad in home decor.
The LED Jellyfish Aquariums feature silicone, Aquapict jellyfish that "swim" along a slow current created by the tank. They change color with the help of a five-color
LED lighting system. Fans say the tanks, which were designed to prevent an obvious flow of bubbles, are highly realistic and the subtle color changes are good for meditation.
The aquarium also serves as a source of illumination. The bright
LED lights can be combined into 11 color patterns, and a special "deep sea mode" allows for full illumination with flashing LED lights.
The LED Jellyfish Aquariums are already one of the most highly sought home electronic items in Japan, so popular that Japan Trend Shop can't keep them in stock.
But there could be an increasing demand for them outside of Asia that might inspire the manufacturer to increase supplies. One admiring fan at Gadget Living hopes to acquire one soon, writing, "Every time I see [the aquarium] I think of how peaceful it looks. Like having a fish aquarium but without having to feed anything!"
Other LED home gadget fans who might not want to shell out $183 for the brightly lit aquarium might be happy to hear that LED lava lamps are now available (and in stock at most suppliers) for as little as $10.
