LED lights offer a higher quality of light and are more durable than CFLs.
When compared to compact fluorescent bulbs, white LED lights generally offer a higher quality, better color rendering light. They achieve full brightness instantly whereas the CFL light bulbs will take 10-30 seconds or more to become fully bright. Another problem that is solved with using LEDs instead of compact fluorescent bulbs is that they are not affected by turning them on and off often. The expected lifetime of a CFL bulb that is turned on and off frequently is a lot less than one that is on for a few hours per cycle.

LED lights are much better for the environment.
When comparing on environmental issues, the LED technology manages to lead the way over fluorescents by a long shot. One big reason for this is the fact that LEDs produce similar amounts of light using less energy. The US Department of Energy has stated that once light bulbs are converted throughout the USA, we will end up saving enough electricity to avoid 40 new power plants and reducing lighting energy demand by 33%. That will have an enormous effect on the amount of pollution created by producing electricity, and this would only be partially as effective if CFL bulbs alone were used, and not LED.
