I'm loving the new Halloween section at eLightBulbs.com. I have to admit, I have several boxes of Christmas decorations, but I don't have any Halloween decorations at all. After looking at the lights on our site and knowing I have to host a party this year, this is the year I start my collection.
The first thing I needed to figure out was what type of string sets I wanted to go with, since the ambient lighting is something I think sets the whole scene--no matter what the theme. Personally, I like the
miniature string sets, so that's my choice. If you prefer larger holiday lights, the answer for that would be
C7/C9 bulbs. Either way, I'm planning on putting these at the corners of each wall of my garage--where the wall meets the ceiling. The whole rooms going to glow orange and purple, the perfect start to my sinister scene!
For the main light fixtures in the room, I'm going with standard
black light bulbs. I could choose the CFL model, but since I don't use them very often, I'm going to go with the regular incandescent one simply because it costs less. I just love black lights; we've all been there, standing underneath one and staring at the way our shirt glows, right? For my party, I've just got to have them.
As for filling up the party room, I am considering using a
Halloween tree. I wasn't thinking about it before, but I really like the way they look and I think one of those would be perfect. The LED candles are a probability too. I am thinking the gentle flicker on those is going to be very nice in setting the mood I am going for. Finishing touches will be orange and black streamers, a few particularly ghoulish jack-o-lanterns, a strobe light, and I'll be all set. I think I'm in for a very happy Halloween!
