I've got to admit, I have not been paying much attention to the battery operated candles lately. Yesterday, I was shown the new catalog from Gersen, and some of the newer products on our site. Wow! The technology has advanced so far, and I have been missing out.
Some of the reasons I don't like using candles very often are the hassle of keeping matches or lighters around (especially with my kids going through things all the time!), the mess of dripping wax all over, and most dreadful is the fire hazard they pose. Of course, we'd have to buy new candles on a regular basis as well, which I'd rather not do if I don't have to. That's the great thing about these LED flameless candles. They eliminate all of those concerns, and really look fantastic.
There are options for candles with remote controls and 5 hour timers, too, so they automatically come on every day at a set time, and stay on for 5 hours, and turn off. Amazing! I suppose you might expect the look of the candles to be "plastic", but that would be very wrong! They are beautiful and very realistic.
Each candle operates on three AAA batteries, and since it's LED lighting, they will last about a month or more, if used every day for the 5 hour cycle. I recommend getting 6 rechargeable AAA batteries, so you can have three in the candle, and three charged up and ready to go once the others stop. That will save you from having to buy a lot of batteries and is very environmentally friendly!
For anyone who likes candles, I strongly recommend you give one of these a try. They are fantastic!
