Litetronics recently released a new line of high watt compact fluorescent light bulbs that are perfect for low bay/high bay lighting, warehouses and factories, industrial applications, and even gymnasiums. These high watt CFLs are available up to 150 watts. A unique feature with this new line is the external ballast; unlike CFLs you're probably used to which have the ballast built into the base, these high watt compact fluorescents are simply bulb and base run by a completely separate ballast.
There are benefits to using a separate ballast control for
compact fluorescent light bulbs. For one thing, money is saved through reduced lamp cost. As there is no longer a ballast inside the base, each high watt CFL costs less than standard CFLs which feature integrated ballasts. Ballasts also generally last longer than the light bulbs they control, so when lamps are replaced you are not wasting money on unnecessary ballasts. Separate ballasts also makes it easier to provide heating to the ballast for startup in cold temperatures, and conversely cooling for operation in high temperatures.
Schools, large businesses, warehouses, and similar applications will benefit a lot from installing these high watt compact fluorescent light bulbs from
Litetronics. A 150 watt CFL replaces HID and incandescent light bulbs of 500 watts! That is significantly reduced energy usage coupled with less frequent light bulb refits, excellent light quality, reliability, and extensive lifetime.
Litetronics has also released two cold cathode compact fluorescent light bulbs with relative high wattage. The 15-watt Micro-Brite CCFL with GU24 base is the highest wattage dimmable cold cathode compact fluorescent light bulb on the market, ideal for restaurants and cinemas. Its pin base is compatible with all GU24 sockets. In addition, they have made available their 11-watt Micro-Brite BR30 flood cold cathode compact fluorescent, also ideal for restaurants and cinemas.
