Sylvania Dulux L compact fluorescent light bulbs for energy efficiency plus long life. The high lumen large compact fluorescent T5.

Since the invention of compact fluorescent light bulbs, users have been saving energy with the most efficient small light source available. Sylvania improved upon the size making them a little larger which resulted in the Dulux L compact fluorescent. This was an answer to designers who were looking for a lot of light in a relatively small fixture. They look the same as their smaller cousin, the Dulux lamp. Those have been used in for years in small fluorescent fixtures. The Dulux L is a high lumen compact fluorescent which because of its shape can be used in many areas where a lot of light was not possible before. The Sylvania Dulux L has been the choice for lighting applications like cove lighting, light boxes or display. The color rendition on the lamp is very high making it an excellent choice for color sensitive areas. The diameter of the bulb is the T5 and it has four pins in a row at the base of the lamp itself.

Compact fluorescent are the smaller fluorescents you see used in almost any type of light fixture that used to use an incandescent light bulb. When it comes to lighting up a home, office or garage, compact fluorescent bulbs tend to be the ones chosen more often than other types of bulbs. They are chosen most often because of the great light output and good color along with energy efficiency as well. When compared to incandescent lighting, these are longer lasting, using much less energy making them a perfect choice for almost any type of lighting. There are several kinds of compact types which include the regular household base, some that are plug-in types and some short linear bulbs. As with all fluorescent bulbs, they rely on ballasts inside of the fixtures or units to make them work. The ballast is important because it is specific for each type of lamp. You can't change from one type of fluorescent to another without changing the ballast in most cases. On a rare occasion there may be a ballast that is made for several different types such as in the case of some commercial plug-in Sylvania Dulux L lamps. Most of the time though the ballast in the lamp are matched electrically and so it's good to make sure the ballast you have is the right one for the lamp you choose.

You can get these in almost any color you want including the more desirable full spectrum light. The full spectrum has special phosphors that give it a similar color to daylight or natural sunshine. It produces light the way our eyes naturally use it, giving better visual acuity and reducing problems like eyestrain. But fluorescents can come in many other colors as well and are identified by their Kelvin temperature. By definition, virtually all are full spectrum in that they contain some of all colors in their spectral range. However, the term full spectrum is primarily used when referring to those lamps that fall into the white to blue/white color temperature range. Color temperature is measured by a term called Kelvin. 3000 Kelvin would be a warm tone color, 5000 Kelvin would be a white color and 6500 Kelvin would be a blue/white color. although there are many choices in color for the Dulux L, it is most commonly found in the 3500 Kelvin or 4100 Kelvin temperature.  The typical office color is usually the 4100 and so it makes sense that these would match up to what the light color is all around the office.  They also come in various wattages down to 18 watts and up to 55 watts, and of course the lengths are different on each of these wattages.

With the advent of higher electrical costs, many businesses are looking for ways to save energy with lighting. Obviously, Sylvania Dulux L compact fluorescent light bulbs are the perfect choice to replace higher wattage incandescent lamps and save energy. You will find a great reduction in your electrical bill while still getting the amount of light that you want. Keep an eye out for electric utility rebates in your area which might be available for compact fluorescent light bulbs. This is more true in commercial lighting than it is for residential as they are a larger user of electricity during the day or high demand times.  There are some cases in which the Sylvania Dulux L has been used in high bay and low bay light fixtures in warehouse or production facilities.  It causes a greater light spread and evenness of light, with a tremendous energy savings over some HID and other types of linear fluorescent sources.
