One of the best innovations in compact fluorescent light bulbs over the past
decade has been the Sylvania Dulux D or double twin tube. It's what some
people call a 4 tube compact fluorescent or sometimes a quad fluorescent.
The reason these are so great is that it allows designers to get a very small
bulb that has a great light output. These also offer light control that
was not possible with other kinds of linear fluorescent before. The
lengths of the Sylvania Dulux D lamps was such that the placement in a fixture
would be in an ideal position for light distribution. Sylvania
improved upon the size making them with a higher wattage which resulted in the Dulux D twin tube
compact fluorescent. This was an answer to designers who were looking for a lot
of light in a relatively small fixture. They look the same as their smaller
cousin, the Dulux twin tube lamp. They had been used for years in small fluorescent
fixtures. The Dulux D twin tube is a high lumen compact fluorescent which, because of its
shape, can be used in many areas where a lot of light was not possible before.
The Sylvania Dulux D has been the choice for lighting applications like cove
lighting, light boxes or display. The color rendition is very high
making it an excellent choice for color sensitive areas. The diameter of the
bulb is the T4 and it has either four pins or two pins in a diagonal position.
Compact fluorescent are the smaller fluorescents you see used in almost any type
of recessed light fixture. When it comes to
lighting up a home or office, compact fluorescent bulbs tend to be the
ones chosen more often than other types of bulbs. They are chosen most often
because of the great light output, good color and energy efficiency as
well. When compared to incandescent lighting, these are longer lasting, using
much less energy, making them a perfect choice for almost any type of lighting.
There are several kinds of compact types which include the regular household
base, some that are plug-in types and some short linear bulbs. As with all
fluorescent bulbs, they rely on ballasts inside of the fixture to make
them work. The ballast is important because it is specific for each type of
lamp. You can't change from one type of fluorescent to another without changing
the ballast in most cases. On a rare occasion, there may be a ballast that is
made for several different types such as in the case of some commercial plug-in
Sylvania Dulux D twin tube lamps. Most of the time though, the ballast in the lamp are
matched electrically and so it's good to make sure the ballast you have is the
right one for the lamp you choose. You'll find these in several wattages
down to 9 watt and all the way up to 26 watts.
You can get these in almost any color you want with a warmer 3000K color or the
4100K color more like office lighting. Fluorescent lamps can come in many other colors as well and are
identified by their Kelvin temperature. By definition, virtually all are full
spectrum in that they contain some of all colors in their spectral range.
However, the term full spectrum is primarily used when referring to those lamps
that fall into the white to blue/white color temperature range. Color
temperature is measured by a term called Kelvin. 3000 Kelvin would be a warm
tone color, 5000 Kelvin would be a white color and 6500 Kelvin would be a
blue/white color. although there are many choices in color for the Dulux D, it
is most commonly found in the 3500 Kelvin or 4100 Kelvin temperature. The
typical office color is usually the 4100 and so it makes sense that these would
match up to what the light color is all around the office.
With the advent of higher electrical costs, many businesses are looking for ways
to save energy with lighting. Obviously, Sylvania Dulux D double twin tube compact fluorescent
light bulbs are the perfect choice to replace higher wattage incandescent flood lamps. You will find a great reduction in your electrical bill while
still getting the amount of light that you want. Keep an eye out for electric
utility rebates in your area which might be available for compact fluorescent
light bulbs. This is more true in commercial lighting than it is for residential
as they are a larger user of electricity during the day or high demand times.
In most cases, the Sylvania Dulux D has been used recessed downlighting or can
lighting where there can be a good amount of light control while retaining good
aesthetics.
