Certainly one of the smallest fluorescent light bulbs available today, the
F4T5, has been used for lighting up very small spaces. They consume 4 watts of energy in
a linear shape making them ideal for many types of tight applications. Because of their small
size, only 6 inches long, they've been used in specialty lighting and sometimes
some battery operated lighting. The F4T5 is the standard cool white or warm white
lamp in most cases, but they are also available in daylight. The daylight
color gives a more natural light similar to natural sunlight. The color
temperature of the daylight version is 6500K, it's whiter
than either the cool white or warm white and would be put in the category of
full spectrum lamps. As with all
fluorescent bulbs, they rely on ballasts inside of the fixtures in order to make
them work. The ballast is important because
it is specific for each type of lamp, especially the F4T5 bulb. You can't
change from one type of fluorescent to another without changing the ballast in
most cases. We have this bulb available in one length and
they are sometimes labeled as F4T5CW or F4T5WW or even F4T5D. The "D"
stands for daylight as was mentioned before.
As previously stated, F4T5 light bulbs have been used in many types
of lighting which includes some things that are much smaller. A
popular application are small hand held trouble lights, battery operated
flashlights or other types of machinery which require a
specific size light to illuminate a certain area. These could be special
types of industrial machines or specialty lights, but mostly it's for illuminating
areas which are usually tight and are hard to reach. For some time in the
lighting industry, exit signs used this lamp in side-lit exits or as a retrofit
energy saver. The F4T5 is really an older
form of technology and are being replaced by other fluorescent twin tube or PL
type lamps, but it
doesn't mean that there aren't many installations where they've been used.
We have them in the popular colors including cool white
and
warm white. If you have another color other than these two, please call us
for availability, we probably have those too. So no matter which F4T5
light bulbs you have, we will have what you need.
Because it's still very pervasive in many types of lighting across the
country, we make the F4T5 fluorescent light bulbs a regular part of our
offering. It's still being sold in some new fixtures for home users and those
battery operated fixtures talked about earlier, so there will probably never be a time when these will not be in use.
Remember that there are many types of fluorescent lighting, we describe some
of the most common used in commercial lighting here. The F4T5 fluorescent
light bulb is a good all around fluorescent light which sometimes works where
nothing else does. Whatever type of
fluorescent you choose or have, you will be saving energy while getting the
most light you can for your money. We have a large inventory of
fluorescent bulbs for nearly every type of light fixture in the field. If
you need help identifying a fluorescent bulb, our customer service
representatives can help you determine what you have.
