There are many times when people just want more light from a halogen than was
possible in the past. People used to settle for a 50 watt lamp, but now
you can get these in a 75 watt version which will give much more light.
It's become one of the most popular halogen bulbs on the market today as these
are used extensively in retail lighting, track lighting and in places where
people want a little more punch. It's a great solution for many people and
it won't increase their energy consumption if they're using standard
incandescent lamps right now. If energy savings is a concern, then perhaps
a lower wattage is would be beneficial. We carry this product in Sylvania and their trade name
for this is Capsylite.
Sylvania 75PAR30 halogen light bulbs are a standard for many fixtures using
halogen floods today. They put a halogen capsule light in a small reflector to
give a great amount of light output while delivering good beam control. The
Sylvania has one of the widest varieties of 75PAR30 lamps including many wattages
and all beam spreads not typically found in most hardware superstores, and that
includes the wide flood version.
These 75 watt halogen bulbs are incandescent bulbs, just like the typical B and R30 flood
bulbs we have been using in lamps for years and years. Halogen bulbs, however,
are filled with a special gas that actually rebuilds the filament and provides a
long life, more than normal incandescent bulbs. The 75PAR30 halogen light bulbs
are flood shaped with the heavy, thick glass that is common to many medium to
large sized halogen bulbs. PAR stands for parabolic aluminized reflector.
The PAR30 is a good direct replacement for the incandescent BR30 lamps that have
been used in track lighting or small recessed cans over the past decades.
There are some situations where these actually also replace R40 lamps with a
higher wattage so people can save energy. It's this energy savings that
sometimes drives people to use this lamp over the old incandescent they used to
have. As a result of doing that, they also get better light, a whiter
light for whatever they're using to highlight whether it be a retail showroom or
it a figurine in somebody's home. That's why halogen
is used in energy saving lighting situations because they are more efficient in
their light production while delivering improved illumination.
The 75PAR30 halogen is a
medium sized flood bulb and are not as large as the PAR38 halogen flood bulbs available. You can
tell what kind of PAR lamp you have by measuring the distance across the widest
point of the bulb. The number after 'PAR' represents the number of eighths of an
inch the bulb diameter is. Therefore, 75PAR30 lamps are 3 3/4 inches across.
PAR30 lamps are widely available from Sylvania, Westinghouse, and most other
small bulb manufacturers. They have standard bases and are able to be used
indoors or outdoors. This means they can be directly exposed to rain or snow and
still function normally and they do not need to be covered by a light fixture.
They also come in various beams threads which include narrow flood, spot, flood,
narrow spot and even a wide flood for those applications where the ceiling or
track lighting might be very low and you need to get a wider beam spread.
These lamps are great improvement over lower wattage halogens of the past.
That 25 watt increase over the standard 50 watt halogen that was
available years ago, makes all the difference for many people were trying to
light up a retail space. Whatever type of lighting need you have, we make
sure that you get a quality product you desire at a reasonable price. That
includes all kinds of halogen bulbs like the 75PAR30. We have

service representatives can help you determine what you have.
