One of the PAR30 halogen bulbs that were ever developed with 50PAR30 that many
people are familiar with today. And the reason it's so popular is that it
was made to replace a 75R30 lamp and which is less energy-efficient and doesn't
give a light that people needed. It may only be 50 watt, but the 50PAR30
definitely meets and exceeds the expectations of most people whether it's in
their home or in a retail business. It's interesting to note that these
come in both short neck and long neck versions. Although they have these
different variations of length, they're really the same in their beam spread and
every other aspect. We carry this product in Sylvania and their trade name
for this is Capsylite.
Sylvania 50PAR30 halogen light bulbs are a standard for many fixtures using
halogen floods today. They put a halogen capsule light in a small reflector to
give a great amount of light output while delivering good beam control. The
Sylvania has one of the widest varieties of 50PAR30 lamps including many wattages
and all beam spreads not typically found in most hardware superstores. Though many PAR30 bulbs are similar
from different manufacturers, we do believe that the Sylvania product is superior for its
beam patterns and light output. As the original developer of halogen lighting technology, they excel in delivering a
quality product for either commercial use or for your home.
Halogen bulbs are incandescent bulbs, just like the typical B and R30 flood
bulbs we have been using in lamps for years and years. Halogen bulbs, however,
are filled with a special gas that actually rebuilds the filament and provides a
long life, more than normal incandescent bulbs. The 50PAR30 halogen light bulbs are
flood shaped with the heavy, thick glass that is common to many medium to large
sized halogen bulbs. PAR stands for parabolic aluminized reflector.
The PAR30 is a good direct replacement for the incandescent BR30 lamps that have
been used in track lighting or small recessed cans over the past decades. The
typical wattage of the old BR30 is 65 or 75 watts, and so replacing them with a 50PAR30 will save 15
to 25 watts and deliver better lighting at the same time. That's why halogen
is used in energy saving lighting situations because they are more efficient in
their light production.
The 50PAR30 halogen is a
medium sized flood bulb and are not as large as the PAR38 halogen flood bulbs available. You can
tell what kind of PAR lamp you have by measuring the distance across the widest
point of the bulb. The number after 'PAR' represents the number of eighths of an
inch the bulb diameter is. Therefore, 50PAR30 lamps are 3 3/4 inches across.
PAR30 lamps are widely available from Sylvania, Westinghouse, and most other
small bulb manufacturers. They have standard bases and are able to be used
indoors or outdoors. This means they can be directly exposed to rain or snow and
still function normally and they do not need to be covered by a light fixture.
They also come in various beams threads which include narrow flood, spot, flood,
narrow spot and even a wide flood for those applications where the ceiling or
track lighting might be very low and you need to get a wider beam spread.
Whatever type of lighting need you have, we make sure that you get a quality
product you desire at a reasonable price. That includes all kinds of

service representatives can help you determine what you have.
