Instead of replacing the GU24 socket in our outdoor post lamp, this was a quick, easy way to convert the socket to the more-common E26. The small increase in overall height might be a concern in some cases, but our fixture had plenty of room to accomodate the change. Excellent result!!

I installed two new porch lights with the two pin GU24 CFL's. Since I have a lot of the screw in CFL's this adapter saves me from buying the more expensive GU24's.
